National and Regional Poster Competition
A competition as part of the Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month celebrations in June 2008.
We are running a national Art Poster competition for schools/organisations and individuals. The theme is to create an image to celebrate GRT History Month in June.
Click here or on the image to download a flyer with more details of the competition, including the terms and conditions.
A Spanish version is also available. There is a link on the right of this page.

The competition was officially launched on 19th February at the House of Lords. Lord Avebury is a strong supporter of GRTHM and was in attendance to chat and discuss the artworks produced by GRT artists as part of the competition. The artwork has been made into a high quality set of posters.

The competition involves finding out about the different histories, cultures and languages of Gypsies, Roma and Travellers (GRT) and then combining this into one Art Poster for the competition.

Lord Avebury discusses Delaine Le Bas' work
Members of the GRT artistic communities will judge the work and select the most interesting work for exhibition. There will be prizes for the best school/organisation and individual prizes for the best Boy and girl Poster at Early years, KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and 16 - 19 and Open for 19+. All these prizes will be awarded at out GRT Achievement Award Presentation in June. The overall winner would have their poster printed and available for purchase from the GRTAS web site.
All this work needs to be done and submitted during the week commencing May 2nd to get work judged and ready for exhibition and printing before June.
This will engage many individuals and schools/ organisations and make them aware of the idea of GRTHM and also encourage them to study more about these fascinating histories.
