Getting Involved
Funding Opportunities for Gypsies Roma and Travellers
Amount available
There is a fixed amount of money available for each of the 8 regions to be spent by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community members on planning and holding GRTHM activities.
To find out more contact your nearest Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month regional regional co-ordinator.
What Can The Money Be Spent On?
The money can be spent on anything you need to celebrate GRTHM within reason. Some examples might be;
To buy/hire artefacts to help in talks and presentations for GRTHM
- Staging events and activities by GRT community members
- Training to improve the ability to stage activities for GRTHM
- Criminal Record Bureau checks for GRT community members who provide activities in school
Who Decides Who Gets The Money?
Gypsies, Roma and Travellers in consultation with the regional forum Gypsy Roma Traveller representatives for GRTHM will decide who will receive funding. Each local region will be able to decide on what to do with the money. Some may want to set limits on amounts applicants can apply for whilst others may decide to spend the total sum available on one event or activity.
The Gypsy Roma Traveller regional representatives will lead on determining how these decisions are reached.
