Does It Matter Where You Come From?

Does it Matter imageA day of presentations and discussions with those who may fall outside of the higher education system.

The morning session considers why so few Care Leavers attend university and what can be done to improve the admissions process for them.

After lunch, Jake Bowers and Damian Le Bas discuss issues that impact on higher education participation for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities. This will be followed by a discussion on the question of the day: Does It Matter Where You Come From?

Author Miriam Wakerly has a book-signing lined up in Watford's Waterstone's. She will be talking about, and signing copies of her new book "No Gypsies Served" a sequel/prequel to "Gypsies Stop tHere".

It continues her the exploration of relations between Gypsies and non-Gypsies, including Irish Travellers. Fiction fuses with fact. A romantic element and humour hold together various storylines to the end.
