Cloth of Gold
Hand Printed Banners made by children from 16 London schools
This is an exhibition of collaborative, large-scale, printed textiles made by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children with their class mates from 16 schools across London . The banners are based on traditional stories and aspects of GRT history and culture and were made to celebrate and raise the profile of the children’s achievement and talents. They were printed by hand, using traditional screen and mono-print methods, by all the children with artists from Cloth of Gold arts charity. The project was commissioned by the Inner London Traveller Education Consortium.

Dispelling Myths
One of the aims of GRTHM is to counter-balance the widespread ignorance of Traveller communities that often leads to hatred and conflict. Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month celebrates our culture and history by tackling the negative stereotyping and prejudices that have led to this situation.
