Hartlebury Gypsy and Traveller Heritage Day
Join us for a day of heritage, art, music and fun! Find out about Gypsy history and culture; past and present.
Series of interactive workshops demonstrating past and present skills i.e. basket weaving, peg making, holly wreaths,wagon making/ restoring etc. Free entry for families if a child in family brings with them a home made model of a vardo.

Awareness raising events in city library.
Joint presentations between Cara Irish Housing and TES.

- Parents, Gypsy Liaison Officer, young people producing an ‘Exhibitions’ pack of GRT life past and present . This recently formed group are known as ‘Shropshire Gypsy Traveller Community Group’
- Playbus activities will be history based to include making items (made in the past for sale). Age range 0-5
- Youth bus activities will be based on producing Posters/Marketing leaflets etc.
The products will be exhibited in District Offices across the County, Shrewsbury Town Centre and County wide during ‘Rock Against Racism’ day.
Local papers and Travellers Times will be contacted directly by Shropshire C.C Rep for marketing before and after events.
